Waiting for the riots to start...

So, there are levees breaking, bridges being washed out and the river is rising just north of us (in Iowa). There are large parts of towns literally under water right now. Just more evidence of a failed government. So, there should be riots, looting and gunfire.......right? Isn't that what we're supposed to do - cause, the government has failed us again. We need the right people in the whitehouse so they can fix everything for us....... cause they've failed us.....we need to elect people who CARE for a change or... we'll start rioting in the streets! Isn't that what they're doing right now in Burlington Iowa? The government isn't doing enough to keep the water from rising so they're taking to the streets aren't they? I guess not.

Interesting post Steve. It sounds like the political climate is kind of crazy there...

I know on our recent trip to the states I was reminded how polarized people are about politics. It's nuts!

Blessings to you guys.

Any missional opportunities to assist the people in Iowa for you guys?

As for our political climate - I'm just reacting to Algore's Obama endorsement and the fact that people think the government can solve all of their problems. Was Katrina a Washington problem? Kind of sickens me. I went down there - People still living in trailers - government rebuilding their homes - insurance companies copping out. No easy answers. Is it the government's job to care? Would it have been different with somebody else in the whitehouse? I don't think so. The rains came down and the floods came up...

As for helping out, we've talked about it as a family, we have some friends in the thick of it - but getting the time off is a problem.:(
